The Edge: Challenge Conference
July 13 - 18 | Kansas City Convention Center
Hey students! Join us for a week-long trip to Kansas City for Challenge, the EFCA’s national gathering for middle and high school students. Over the span of six days (100+ hours together!) we’ll road trip, study and discuss God’s Word, worship with thousands of other students from around the country, participate in outreach and service around the Kansas City area, pray together, get to know each other in deeper ways, and have so much fun.
Fun fact: Jennifer attended Challenge as a high schooler, and it made a radical, long-lasting difference in her life and faith. There are so many stories from other students of God using this week to send lives on a new trajectory. We’re so excited for our students to get to experience it together and see how God works!
Details:
- We’ll leave early Monday morning, drive to Kansas City, spend 5 nights at a hotel in downtown KC, and be back late afternoon on Saturday.
- Total cost is $750—but please don’t let that scare you. We’ll be helping students fundraise, write support letters, and earn much of this. Those who do the work can expect to pay less than half that amount—and some wind up raising the full amount! It’s a chance both to invest in the faith of your student AND to watch God provide. Cost covers registration, transportation, lodging, and all meals in KC. They will only need spending money for 2 meals on the road.
- This event is open to students in 6th-12th grade.
- Deadline to register is April 12.
- Talk to Jennifer about any questions you have!
The theme of this summer’s Challenge is “Even Here,” and we’ll be in the Psalms. In the Book of Psalms, one truth resounds again and again: God’s nearness. In every place, every circumstance and every unfiltered emotion, the psalmist returns to the same reality: God is with us. “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” (Ps 139:7-10) From desperation to delight, from doubt to devotion, the Psalms show us a loving God who meets His people in every moment. At Challenge 2026 (July 13-17), we’ll step into this ancient collection of prayers and songs to encounter the same unchanging truth: the loving presence of God transforms every place we stand. And as students return home, they’ll carry with them the deep assurance that, no matter where they are or what they face, God is even here.
