Children’s Ministry

Nursery through 5th Grade

Children's Ministry

As a children’s ministry, we are striving to bring children and their families into healthy relationships with Jesus. We maintain a loving, safe, and fun environment where our students can learn, grow, and feel free to ask questions. We pray that our students will not only learn the content of the Bible, but even more importantly, become acquainted with its Author. We hope that as our students are coming to personally know Christ, they will also build personal relationships with their teachers and peers that will continue into the youth group and last for years to come.

What To Expect

NURSERY:

Our staffed nursery provides a safe, pleasant, and spiritually nurturing place for infants and toddlers (0-3) during the Gathered Worship so parents and other worshippers can enjoy stress-free, undistracted worship.

The nursery is open every Sunday.

EXPLORERS:

Explorers, our ministry for kids in preschool through 5th grade, meets in the children’s ministry area at 9:30am during the Gathered Worship. We have different classrooms for different ages:
Pioneers (preschool age), Pathfinders (K-2nd grade), and Voyagers (3rd-5th grade) engage in SuperBook curriculum, which is a fun and interactive curriculum that we use to deepen our relationships with one another and Jesus.

Explorers meets Sundays during the school year, but takes breaks during the final Sunday(s) of the month, holiday weekends, and over the summer. See below for more information.

INTERGENERATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

We place a high value on intergenerational relationships and kids' participation in the Gathered Worship. To foster these goals, Explorers are dismissed from class to take communion and sing the closing songs with the rest of the congregation.

Additionally, Explorers only meets the first three weeks of the month and intentionally takes a break on the 4th and 5th Sundays to allow kids to attend the full Gathered Worship service with their families.

Explorers' Theater Company

An opportunity for children to actively participate in a fun and thoughtful Bible story--and then share that story with family and friends!

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
– Deuteronomy 6:5-7
