Psalm 64

Greg Kvamme   -

March 22, 2026 Lord, thank you for these Psalms showing us how to give our heavy hearts and our weighty burdens to you and seek you to provide vindication. This Psalm give us good instruction to hide us from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers. We see the evil plots. We are tempted by the lure to chase after things that are not the good things of you, Lord. Help us to pursue you and hide from wickedness.

This morning we mourn for those who have not escape the ambush of the evil. We pray for Jennifer and her son Marazai in our nearby City of Lexington who were murdered this week. And we pray for the surviving children who escaped that situation, but will not escape this terrifying memory. With heavy hearts, we pray for comfort, and we look to you for hope in this terrible situation.

We pray for the war with Iran with many killed, many injured, and many lives turned upside down. We pray for a rapid change of power, and change in the political situation. We pray for a major de-escalation and end to war and peace to prevail. We know true peace will not be achieved with human efforts and we earnestly desire your perfect kingdom to be established on the Earth.

We pray for Pastor David, Abbie, and Phoebe along with Abbie’s family celebrating her dad’s birthday this weekend. Keep them safe, help them to enjoy their time with family and may your Holy Spirit fill them with grace and wisdom in their extended family relationships.

Thank you for Dave preaching to us this morning on the peacemakers. Move our hearts to not simply desire peace, but to actively work to reconcile relationships between each other and with you God. We are in awe of the work that Jesus Christ did for us on the cross to make a way for us to have peace with you. May we lift up Jesus Christ in all we do and continually remember this wonderful work of Christ.
