Psalm 41
October 12, 2025 Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
We thank you for the truth and clarity found in your word. We are reminded in David’s psalm today that you bless those who have regard for the weak. So what does that look like for us in 2025? A few examples close to home would be the Back Pack ministry for high school students or the One Warm Coat drive we are finishing up today. Larger ministries like Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child or Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree ministry are also effective ways to have regard for the weak and vulnerable. We are reminded in Matthew 25:40 when we reach out to the weak, our actions will glorify the Lord. Father, as our schedules fill up fast in the fall, help us to be mindful of all of the ways around us to act on David’s challenge in this psalm.
We also see how David boldly asks for mercy and healing because he is honest before the Lord and freely admits he is a sinner. Holy Spirit, continue to bring to mind the areas in our lives where we need to own our sin. Help us to not listen to Satan’s lies about this little sin or that little sin not really being a big deal. Father, our desire is to be right with you and enjoy the fullness of fellowship that you offer. As you continue to refine us and increase our integrity, we know that you will uphold us. We learn from this psalm that David often had enemies that were out to make his life miserable. Yet, his main goal was to keep a right relationship with you. Help us to keep the same focus of living lives of integrity before you.
We thank you today for the encouraging movements in the middle east to bring peace to Jerusalem and Israel. We pray for the safe return of the hostages tomorrow and that this agreement would bring lasting peace to the region for years to come.
Father, we continue to lift up your servants B and T in SE Asia. Thank you for opportunities Tiff has when working with other ladies preparing the chocolate treats. Her testimony is on display in real time when the batches don’t turn out the way they should. We also ask for Ben’s continued success during the remaining concerts this semester and on his ongoing discipling efforts. We also pray with B and T for a husband for their female friend who lives an hour and a half away.
Heavenly Father, we also lift up a former youth volunteer at our church, Nate Felth, along with his wife Katie and children Grady and Blake. Through the ministry of FCA, Nate is reaching high school students in the Walworth county of Wisconsin. We pray for success as they seek new volunteers in 2026 for expanded huddle and camp ministry opportunities. We pray you will continue to grow Nate’s financial support team as he works in this vital ministry to high school students.
We pray these things in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit….and all God’s people said………Amen.
