Psalm 78
June 28, 2026 Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we praise you today for your patience and long suffering with us as your children. In today’s psalm we are reminded time and time again how the people of Israel were stubborn and rebellious against you. Yet, you continued to give them chances to come back to You. Just like the Israelite people, we confess that often times we find ourselves not being loyal and faithful to you. With the affluence we enjoy in our country, it is far too easy to put our trust in possessions or 401K’s. While these are certainly not bad in themselves, help us to remember that our hope should be in You alone.
The psalmist reminds us we need to teach our children how great you are. They in turn can teach their children. We thank you for all the volunteers we have in the Explorer’s program and the Edge. They place a high priority on teaching our youth the truths found in scripture. We pray that you would give Jennifer and Dakoda wisdom as they continue in the ministry to middle and high school students. Help those of us who may not be directly involved, find ways to come alongside these leaders and support training our youth about how awesome you are.
We also see in this psalm how you took a humble shepherd and used him to accomplish your will. Help us remember as we remain faithful to you in the ordinary things of life, you are using us to move the Gospel message forward and drawing people to yourself. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your eternal plan!
Father, we pray for the leaders you have put in place at our local, state and national levels. We ask that you will keep them humble as they face the temptation to think they are more important than they really are. Help them to maintain a servant mindset and may they fulfill their duties like King David, with integrity of the heart.
We look forward to seeing D, K and their family later this summer. We ask the remaining details for their trip back from Spain would go smoothly. Please provide wisdom for their team as they plan for this years production needs with one less couple to help them. We pray you will continue to meet the needs of their family, as they navigate the demands of ministry with the challenges of raising children. Help them to find a healthy balance. In addition, we pray you will provide their short term needs of bikes, exercise equipment and a vehicle while they are back in the states.
We pray all of this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit….and all God’s people said………Amen.
