Psalm 66
April 5, 2026 Our Father, we do come joyfully to You today. Resurrection Sunday is the ultimate reminder of the greatness of Your works and the glory of Your name. How awesome are your deeds! So great is Your power that even death could not stop it! Because of Your victory peoples from all the ends of the earth worship You, and we join them in praise. You raised Jesus from the dead. Your power defeated death, sin, injustice, hopelessness, and all the other broken parts of our lives and our world. You conquered it all. And now that same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us by Your Spirit. We rejoice in that. And we ask that You help us to experience it more and more—to allow Your power to renovate our fickle hearts, to heal hurting relationships, to bolster our perseverance through temptation and trial.
This morning, Father, we ask Your forgiveness on all of our failings. We repent of those things that You have called us to do but we shrank back from, as well as those things which You called us not to do and we have done anyhow. We confess that we have not loved You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have filled our hearts, our minds, our schedules, and our budgets with things that are transient rather than eternal. Forgive us, Father, and by the power of Your Spirit help us amend what we are and direct what we shall be so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your holy name.
Like the psalmist, Lord, we ask You to give us opportunities to share with others what You have done for us—to tell of Your salvation and Your glory, of the things You have brought us through and the abundance You have brought us into. Thank You for Jesus—for His perfect death in our place, for His perfect love, for His powerful resurrection, and for the promise of the resurrection awaiting all of us when He comes again.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, and all God’s people said, Amen.
