Psalm 62

Jennifer Kvamme   -

March 8, 2026 O Lord, You are our Rock and our Salvation. You are the Fortress that keeps us steady when the world around us feels frightening, chaotic, or disorienting, the Refuge from the evil and anxiety that surround us.

Remind us regularly, Father, to put our trust in You alone. Not in people of power, whom you remind us are lighter than a breath. Not in riches, which seem to sprout wings. Not in our health or positions or wisdom or relationships, which are never guaranteed. To You, O Lord, belong power, love, and steadfastness. You are worthy of our complete trust.

We pray for the people of Iran today. We pray for protection for civilians, as well as for our own soldiers. We pray for wisdom for leaders—of all countries involved–that they would act in ways that are righteous, just, needful, and lawful. We pray for peace, that wars would cease. But we pray also for change: we want to see Iran would be a place of justice and freedom, where Christians can live without fear, just as we would like to see this happen throughout the world in places were oppression and injustice thrive and where our brothers and sisters are imprisoned or killed for their faith. However, we also know that sometimes Your Kingdom spreads fastest in the darkest of places, where the faith of those willing to die for Jesus shines the brightest. We pray that in these dark days in Iran and throughout the Middle East, believers would be bold in sharing the gospel, in sharing their hope for a city that is to come, free of war and death and fear, and that many people would be drawn to You.

In our own nation, there have been reports of quiet revival, of Gen Z in particular turning to faith in unprecedented numbers, and we praise You for that. We praise You for being at work among all people, often in ways and places that surprise us, such as on college campuses. We pray that many more would continue to be drawn to the good news of Your gospel. We pray that You help us, as Your people, to have boldness to share about you with our neighbors, friends, and family—perhaps even strangers You bring across our path—and that You open doors and open hearts to hear.

We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, trusting You to answer, and all God’s people said, Amen.
