Psalm 60

John Chamberlain   -

February 22, 2026 Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

We come before you today giving thanks that we have the opportunity to sing praises to you and read from your living word. Help this to never grow stale and think we don’t really need this necessary rhythm in our lives. We read of countless times in the bible when Israel strays away from their reliance on you, leading to rejection and anger from you. My question is how are we any different from them today? Our enemies may not be countries seeking to capture us, but they are no less formidable. Enemies that seek to make us think of ourselves more highly  than we ought, leading us to rely on our own talents or intellect rather than relying on you. Enemies can also be far more subtle, and yet just as dangerous. Our schedules can become so full that we don’t have room to spend time with you in prayer and reflection.

Help us Father to never lose sight of the fact that we need you. David understood this when he stated the help of man is worthless and you would provide the victory over his enemies. Help us to see that our lives become more blessed when we understand who we are in you. Our hope comes from knowing that you will be victorious over this world and we will be able to be with you for eternity!

Heavenly Father, we pray for the leaders you have placed in authority over us. At the state and national levels there are many complex decisions that need to be made. May you give them wisdom in making these decisions. Help them to have a servants heart in the various leadership roles they have. And may you give them an understanding that you are the one who is in ultimate control.

We thank you for the role you have given to Catherine as she works for Wycliffe Bible Translators. We pray that you will continue to give her the energy to handle her work load. We also ask that you will be with her and Dan as they look for a new church to be a part of and minister with.

We pray these things in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit….and all God’s people said………Amen.
