Psalm 32

Heavenly Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,

We come before you today as a church family knowing we are blessed beyond anything we deserve. Through the completed work of Jesus on the cross, You have made a way for our sins to be forgiven.  Father, help us to come before you today in humble confession of areas in our lives that we know we have not been following You or your clear instruction.

Help us to not think we can get away with hiding anything from You, for you know every detail of our lives.  At the same time we are grateful for the relief we can experience when we are honest before you.  You have promised you will forgive us, cover those sins, and not hold them against us going forward.  What an amazing promise!

We also learn from this psalm in the midst of the storms of our lives we can find rest in you.  Help us to be reminded of that often.  May we come to you first in prayer, instead of waiting and only coming to you as a last resort.

Father, we pray for the ongoing efforts of the all of the people and relief organizations that have been mobilized in Turkey.  We ask that the local churches would meet the needs of the people in their communities.  Help them to be a clear testimony of your love, and we ask that you would provide them with continued stamina to keep up the work.  We pray for safety for the workers as there are many concerns about destabilized buildings in the cleanup effort.

Closer to home, we pray for your blessing on the efforts of the Pro-Life Advocacy Day this coming Tuesday at the State Capitol in St. Paul.  May the message of your love for every unborn child be clearly communicated.  In addition, I would ask that you would help each of us to be willing to share the truth with our friends, that you value every unborn child because they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

In closing, we lift up K and D, our Global Partners in Spain.  For K, to lose her younger brother J at only 25 years old is a crushing blow. Please come alongside the family and bring the peace that only you can offer at a time like this. We pray that you would wrap your loving arms around the entire family so they can feel your presence in a very tangible way.

For it’s in the loving name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we pray these things.  And all God’s people said………Amen.
