Psalm 89

Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
We thank you for the amazing amount of encouragement and hope we see in the psalm today. Your love standing firm forever and Your faithfulness being known to all generations are promises that we need in the craziness of our culture today. Help us to show people that the calmness of our approach to life is only because of our relationship with You. The psalmist rightly questions who is like you O Lord? You are the creator of everything including heaven and earth. Your strength has no equal. Righteousness, justice, love and faithfulness are things that our world desperately needs. You have established all of these since the foundation of the world.
Father, we pray for the leaders of our state and nation at this time. Their job is complex beyond what many of us can imagine. They need wisdom from You. We ask they would look to you for understanding on how to rule with justice and righteousness.
Holy Spirit teach us what it looks like to rejoice in your name daily. May we walk in the light of your presence and truly exalt you because of how great You are. Jesus we ask for your help to love those around us in ways that show you are the most important thing to us. Help our lives be such that people are drawn to you, and not pushed away because of the way we live.
Thank you for the safe arrival of D and K back to the states. Help them to enjoy a fruitful time of visiting supporters while they are here through the end of the year.
Finally, we bring before You our pastoral search committee and ask that you would give them an extra measure of clarity and discernment at this time. As they sort through potential candidates, we pray that You would intercede. Help them to know when to continue pursuing a potential pastor and when to set a candidate aside. We also pray for our future pastor. Help him to be led by the Holy Spirit so he will know when to continue to move forward in our application process and when to back away. We pray that you would continue to put a hedge of protection over the entire process. We ask that You would bind Satan and not allow him to get in the way of what You want to accomplish through Centennial church.
We pray this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit….and all God’s people said………Amen.
