Psalm 107

Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

We praise you today for your steadfast love that lasts for all of eternity.  We praise you for the wondrous ways you work in the lives of each and every one of us.  We don’t have to look very far to see examples of the how your hand is at work.  The speed at which the Covid vaccine is being made available, the warm spring days filled with sunshine to uplift us, the smile of a child or the encouraging word from a friend.  These are all ways your wondrous works can be seen around us if we stop and take a minute to think about it.

We confess that too often we get pulled down by some of the things that are happening in our culture today or perhaps we are shackled with the painful consequences of poor decisions we have made.  Decisions that were made when we thought we could run our own lives rather following you and your instruction for us.

The Psalmist reminds us of the good news that no matter where we are at, we can cry out to you and you will deliver us from our distress.  Even though it is hard to comprehend, we thank you Father for your unending love for us. We thank you Jesus for your willingness to come to earth to draw people to yourself.  In addition, you suffered a humiliating death to pay for my sins and for the sins of my friends here today.  We thank you Holy Spirit for moving among us to keep pulling us back when we start to go off track.  We truly have much to be grateful for!

We praise you today for meeting the housing needs of our global partners, N and C and their boys. as they will be close to family while they are back in the States for an extended period of time. Father, we ask that you help N to regain his strength and overcome the fatigue he has been battling. May you bring a full recovery to his body so he can once again function without limitations.

As we head into the next weeks and months of the George Floyd trial, we ask for your peace to cover the city of Minneapolis.  We pray that you would protect people as they head to their homes or places of work.  We pray that you would help people to exercise patience and self-control.  And finally, we ask that you would be guiding those in decision making capacities. May their primary concern be justice for the people involved in the case.

We pray this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,

….and all God’s people said………Amen.
