Project 17:27

God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:27

We believe that God divinely moves people from place to place in His program to expand His Kingdom through our world.  Often the scriptures challenge the people of God to demonstrate hospitality to the foreigner in their land.

Throughout November and December 2009 Centennial EFC joined together in helping settle a family into living quarters.  This family of four was leaving political unrest in Latin America. Our goal was to prepare a comfortable basement apartment in the home of their relatives in Minneapolis and to provide them with all necessary living essentials.  We saw God answer prayer by providing mattresses and major appliances through the generosity of local businesses.  The church also came together on several work projects and supply lists.

We are happy to announce that the family arrived safely and are grateful for all of the living necessities CEFC was able to equip them with.

CEFC also lived out the Project 17:27 values on our latest BUMP trip. One of the churches we served near NYC was positioned in a neighborhood of many Egyptian immigrants. Their student ministry reached many of the young people in this community, but their space wasn’t adequate to hold them all. By knocking out a wall and redoing their youth room, we assisted this church in reaching the immigrants in their neighborhood.

As a church, we continue to look for ways we can be a part of bringing the gospel to the people God brings to our country and our community.
