The Unveiling…2010 Trips & Fundraisers
Join us this Sunday as we unveil The Edge Youth Group’s 2010 trips and fundraisers! If you want a sneak peak click here.  Below is a summary of the two big trips happening Summer 2011.

Open Door Haiti
August 3-10
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere… and one of our neighbors. Christ called us to love our neighbors, serve the poor, and reach the lost. In August, The Edge will be flying to Cap Haitian, Haiti, to work alongside Open Door Haiti, a church which God is already using to do some great things in Haiti. (They have a school, food ministry, and youth ministry training program, and are working on building an orphanage and widows’ village.) Through a combination of relational ministry and work projects, we’ll serve this ministry and leave with a bigger understanding of what God is doing in a country very different from our own.

Mission: Chicago (Middle School)
Dates TBA
You can experience real cross-cultural ministry (and real poverty) right in our own country.  In 2011, The Edge will be bringing middle-schoolers to Chicago to serve alongside an urban church who is actively reaching their community. They’ll learn a lot about missions, justice issues, and our call as Christians in this world… and we bet they’ll leave excited about the opportunities we have to make a difference.

What I Learned on my Summer Vacation…
Starting this Sunday we will be starting a new sermon series entitled “What I Learned on my Summer Vacation”.  Sermons will include:

  • I Should Pay More Attention to the Inside (Matthew 6:1-18)
  • I Should Live More Simply (Matthew 6:19-24)
  • I Should Adjust my View of my Work (Matthew 6:25-34)
  • I Should Discover How to Sabbath (various passages)

Sign-ups Available This Sunday
Ladies, if you weren’t able to stop by the Women’s Retreat booth at the Ministry Fair, sign-ups and information will be available this Sunday in the foyer.

9:00am Service Core Group
It is CEFC’s desire to thrive and multiply.  Because we want to reach as many people as possible with the gospel, we would like to launch a second service at 9:00am Sunday mornings.  We want to make sure all of our church services are healthy and well-attended.  To assure this, we have started to form a 9:00am service core group.  When we have 100 people consistently attending our 10:00am service and the core group reaches 40 people we will launch the 9:00am service!  If you feel led to commit to this core group, please click here.

Are We Friends?
If you use Facebook, we’d love to be friends! Please join the Centennial Evangelical Free Church group to receive updates, announcements, to view pictures, and to network with other members. Simply search for us by the name of the church or click here.
