Growth Groups

Growth groups are a big part of CEFC.  Those groups help foster strong relationships with one another and God. Growth groups usually last 10 weeks, and we start a new round of groups a few times throughout the year. We currently have 3 types of growth groups:

Discipleship Explored groups
Right now, many of our growth groups are going through the study “Discipleship Explored,” which is a journey into the book of Philippians. As we discover Paul’s extraordinary letter, you will explore for yourself the meaning of Paul’s words: “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” DE is intended for anyone who wants to make the most of their Christian lives. Whether you have recently decided to follow Christ or have followed Christ for many years, DE is for you. During a typical session you will enjoy some light refreshments, a group discussion, a brief talk, and a video presentation. During the following week you will have some brief, daily Bible readings and questions to think through before the next meeting.

Ladies only groups
The ladies’ groups are currently going through Beth Moore’s study “Breaking Free: The Journey, The Stories.” This book leads you through a study of the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, this in-depth Bible study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today’s believers. Beth uses Scripture to help identify spiritual strongholds in your life, no matter how big or small. She explains that anything that hinders us from the benefits of knowing God is bondage. Breaking Free is Beth’s life message that she wants to share with you.

Student groups
Growth groups for middle school and high school students (grouped by gender) meet throughout the year and choose different topics regularly. Those who come enjoy deeper study, closer relationships, and a lot of fun in the process.
